I’d have to see them, side-by-side, in my garage to know for sure...

Hard to argue with “clackity clack.”
Honestly the V8 R8 was sort of the most desirable to me anyway just because it was priced in a way that allowed me to actually fantasize about owning one. It’s honestly a pretty cool car, MT + AWD + Mid engine is a very rare combo considering how well such a setup works both from an effectiveness and from a
fun to drive standpoint.

Based on looks alone, I’d walk straight to the original R8. Its lines are almost timeless IMO, as opposed to the new one that looks like it belongs in a Michael Bay movie about alien robots.
The choice would be even easier if it has a third pedal.

The original bodystyle is the best version of the R8 by far. Full height side blades FTW.

The original R8 is still my favorite by far. That said I wouldn’t kick a second generation out of the garage. The 2018+ facelifted cars are quite ugly to me, I would have to swap on the pre-facelift parts if I somehow ended up with one of those.

Metal flappy paddles should be standard. Hell, anything other that standard plastics would be awesome!
